To save you from having to contact us to get an answer to your query, why not see if it has already been answered below?
How do I get started?
You will first need to create an account. It's free!
You will then be emailed a password which you can then use to login to the system from the my account page. Before starting a campaign you will need to create a mailing list of all of the addresses you wish to send the email to. Once you have done this you are ready to begin.
What kind of reporting will I see?
MailerMate's reporting is real-time and updates as the campaign progresses. You'll be able to see:
- How many users have opened your emails, and their operating system, language and location
- Which individual emails were opened and when
- Which users clicked which links in your emails
The statistics are also fully searchable for maximum reporting flexibility.
What features are available for free?
You'll be able to explore all of MailerMate's features with a free account - you only need to purchase credits to send a campaign.
Can I use MailerMate for spamming?
MailerMate operates a strict unsolicited bulk email (spam) policy. Spam emails are not permitted and offending accounts will be closed.
How do I format by mailing lists for upload?
There are full instructions on the "Create New Mailing List" screen.
Your file needs to be in CSV format, with "comma delimited" or "comma separated" values.
If you're using a Mac, you may need to specify "Windows CSV".
How do I add a link to an online version?
Just add: *online* to your email. This will be replaced with a link when the mail is processed.
For example: View a version *online*.
How do I add an unsubscribe link?
Just add: *unsubscribe* to your email. This will be replaced with a link when the mail is processed.
For example: Click here to *unsubscribe*.
Unsubscribes are managed automatically by MailerMate so you don't need to update your lists manually.
How do I personalise a campaign?
MailerMate allows 3 fields in your mailing lists for first name, last name and company. These can be added to your email (or subject line) with the short codes: *first*, *last* and *company*.
An example would be: Dear *first*, how can we help *company* today?
These short codes (enclosed by asterisks) would be replaced, per-email, by the system as the campaign progresses.
What limits are there on mailing lists, templates and campaigns?
Your MailerMate account allows unlimited mailings lists and templates - and campaigns are only limited by the credits you have available.
Can I host the images for my campaign on my own web space?
Yes if you wish. However, if you select tracking for your campaign, then the tracking images required will be automatically added and hosted on MailerMate, leaving the rest of the images to come from your web space.
Can you design our email templates for us?
I have an idea for something that MailerMate can't do right now.
Great stuff! Get in touch with us at info@mailermate.co.uk and we'll see what we can do.
How do I use my own HTML code to create an email?
The first thing to be aware of is that if you have used any CSS in your page this must now be inline. Essentially this means that each element in your page has got the "style" attribute set with the CSS for it, rather than these being set either in the "head" section of the page, or in an external CSS file. This is because many email clients will strip this out and so your email will not be displayed as you expect.
Once your code is ready then you can paste it in either as a template or as a new email by clicking on the 'HTML' button in the editor.
How much will I have to spend?
Initially, nothing at all. Unlike many other systems we allow you to setup an account for free to give you a chance to get to know how the site works. You can try creating mailing lists and email templates without spending a thing.
When you are happy with the range of features we offer, simply go to the 'buy credits' page. We charge one credit for every email that you send, with our minimum order being 100 credits. They start from as little as 3p per credit meaning you can send your emails cheaply and efficiently.
How do I change my registered email address?
It's easy. Just login from the my account page and then click on 'My Details'.
